Synopsis: The Amazing Spider-Man #373 concludes the Invasion of the Spider-Slayers storyline. Spider-Man finds himself trapped inside an abandoned meat-packing plant after following FBI agent Charles Shaddock, who has kidnapped the two people claiming to be Peter Parker’s long-lost parents. With Peter caught on a conveyor belt carrying him toward a fiery incinerator, Shaddock is willing to let him die to conceal his connection to the Red Skull from decades earlier. Peter manages to escape, but the danger continues as Shaddock holds Richard Parker at gunpoint.

As the confrontation reaches its climax, Spider-Man battles to stop Shaddock and finally puts an end to Alistair Smythe's latest Spider-Slayer threat. The issue brings the six-part storyline to a conclusion while leaving Peter with growing questions about the mysterious people who claim to be his parents—questions that will become increasingly important in the issues that follow. Written by David Michelinie with art by Mark Bagley and Randy Emberlin, the issue is also notable for its intense, cliffhanger-style cover and action-heavy conclusion.
