Synopsis: "The Big Joke Game" is a whimsical children's novel about Ozzie Hinkle, a boy who loves practical jokes, rhymes and games, often to the dismay of those around him. After a fall, he wakes up in a mysterious limbo land where everything operates like a giant joke-filled game. To escape, Ozzie must navigate a series of challenges involving puns, riddles, limericks, and spoonerisms. His companion through this bizarre world is a guardian devil he nicknames Bub (short for Beelzebub). As Ozzie progresses, he learns an important lesson—that there is a time for jokes and a time for seriousness. In the end, Bub reveals himself to be a guardian angel in disguise and sends Ozzie back to the real world.

There is a child's name in pen and ink spots/blotches on the title page (see photos) The interior pages have some minor yellowing due to age and pages 91-96 have a tiny 1/4" dogear crease on one of the bottom corners.
