Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the 1970's advertising The Connection Discotheque at the now closed Holiday Inn hotel which was located at 220 Mansion House Center near the riverfront in St. Louis Missouri.
The 29 story building in the Mansion House complex was built in the mid 1960's as an apartment building and it became a hotel in 1974 when the 440-room Holiday Inn opened. The hotel was sold to Radisson in 1998, and then Crowne Plaza took over in 2006. The hotel changed ownership again in 2015 and was renamed the City Place Hotel. in 2018 plans were announced to convert 6 of the floors into timeshares.
The front cover has the "The Connection A Discotheque" logo and name, and the strike side cover has the Holiday Inn logo, the word's "Let's Connect", and the address. The inside of the cover says "Let's Connect" and has space to write a name and phone number.
The matchbook cover is empty and there are no matches. It is in very good condition with minor wear along the edges near the strike pad (see photos).
