Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the 1950's advertising the now closed The Quaker Bonnet restaurant and bakery which was located at 431 Elmwood Ave at the corner of Bryant Ave in Buffalo, New York.
The restaurant opened in 1932 and specialized in home style meals home made candies, baked goods, and ice cream.
The front cover of the matchbook has the restaurant name and logo and old style phone number. The strike side says "Everything purchased from us is made in the Quaker Bonnet kitchens".
The inside of the matchbook has the restaurant name and address, and says "Try our home made candies, conserves, baked goods, ice cream".
The matchbook cover is in very good condition. It is empty and there are no matches, and the strike pad appears to be unused. (see photos).
