Late 1940's/early 1950's postcard showing The "New" Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana
The hotel was built in 3 stages. The original 6-story building was built in 1893, the 14-story University Place tower was added in 1908, and the 16-story Bayonne Street tower was added in 1925. Arthur Hailey's 1965 novel 'Hotel' was based on his 2-month stay at the hotel in 1964.
The postcard is used and stamped, postmarked 1950. The card has postal cancellation marks on the front near the top in the sky area (see photos).
