Vintage black and white announcement / complimentary admission pass for the Thompson Twins "Lies" contest held by Arista Records at the legendary Danceteria club in New York City on November 9, 1982 to mark the release of the single and video for the Thompson Twins song "Lies".
The event included a meet and greet with the band, a viewing of the "Lies" video, special guests, and a contest where the winner won $100 for making up the most outrageous lie.
The pass is postcard sized (5.5" x 3.5", 140mm x 89mm) and was printed on postcard type cardboard paper stock. It is in excellent condition.
Trivia: the new wave / synthpop "Lies" single received heavy play on MTV in '82-'83 and hit #30 on the US top 100 charts and #1 on the dance charts.
