Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the 1950's advertising the now closed Pohl Tie Shop which was located at 1417 Hertel Avenue in Buffalo, New York.
The matchbook cover has the "Ties by Pohl" name and logo, the store's address, and says look inside. The inside of the cover has details on a contest to get a free tie: "Save these Lucky Covers, Get the Complete Spelling Set Spelling P-O-H-L (This matchbook has the letter 'O'), Bring them to the Pohl Shop at 1417 Hertel Ave and receive a tie absolutely free".
The matchbook cover is in very good condition. (see photos). The matchbook is empty and there are no matches, and the strike pad appears to be unused.
