Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the early 1960's advertising the long closed Town Manor Motor Hotel which was located at 175 Main Street West near the corner of Caroline in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
The 3-floor 74 room hotel was built in 1959. From 1982 to the mid 1980's its basement was home to the small Kelly Jayz rock club / bar, founded by the frontman of the Canadian band Crowbar, which hosted live music. The Town Manor was sold in the early 1990's and changed its name to the Arrival Inn.
The front cover of the black and gold matchbook has the hotel's logo. The strike side has the hotel name. The inside has the address and the old style phone number.
The matchbook cover is empty and there are no matches, the strike pad appears to be unused. The matchbook is in overall very good condition (see photos).
