Vintage 10-strike matchbook cover (no matches) from the very early 1950's advertising the 40-unit Washburn's Motel Court on U.S. 301 2 miles outside of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
The hotel was owned and managed by Ed and Doris Washburn.
The front cover has the hotel name, and the strike side cover says "The East's Outstanding Tourist Stop". The inside of the cover has the old style phone number and city.
The matchbook cover is empty and there are no matches, the strike pad appears to be unused but there is one small mark on it near the fold. The matchbook is in overall very good condition (see photos).
