Product Description

12 page full color brochure for the 1974 Caribbean cruises (6 day Bahamas cruises, and 10&11 day West Indies cruises) aboard Windjammer Barefoot Cruises two sailing yachts Fantome and Yankee Clipper.

The brochure has photos and information about the cruises and ships, descriptions of ports of call and sailing schedules, and room rates.

The front cover is creased and has some light wear, but the brochure is otherwise in very good condition.

The 197 ft. S/V Yankee Clipper was built as the private sailing yacht Cressida in 1927.  The Vanderbilt family acquired the sip after WWII and renamed it the pioneer. Windjammer acquired it in 1965 and renamed it the Yankee Clipper.  The ship was permanently docked in Trinidad after Windjammer went out of business in 2007.

The 262 ft 679 ton staysail schooner S/V Fantome was built in for the Duke of Westminster.  The ship was owned by Aristotle Onassis from 1956-1969.  Windjammer acquired it from Onassis in 1969.  In 1998 the ship got caught in category 5 Hurricane Mitch and sank with the loss of 31 crew members.
