Winnie The Pooh And The Honey Tree, adapted by Mary Packard from the Disney film of the same name, and illustrated by Russell Hicks. A Little Golden Book, published by Golden Press, Western Publishing Co, Racine WI. Printed in the USA in 1997. Hardcover book, 24 pages.
Synopsis: Pooh has a "rumbly in his tumbly" and, of course, the only thing that will satisfy it is honey. He spots a tall honey tree and tries to climb it, but is unsuccessful. Pooh then comes up with a clever, albeit silly, plan. He borrows a balloon from Christopher Robin and rolls in mud to disguise himself as a "little black rain cloud." Floating up to the beehive, he sings a little song, but his plan goes awry when the bees realize he's a bear and not a cloud.
The bees chase Pooh and Christopher Robin through the woods until the two friends jump into a muddy hole and hide under an umbrella to escape the angry swarm. Christopher Robin, seeing his friend's failed attempt, affectionately calls him a "silly old bear."
Condition: The book is in very good condition. The front cover has some price sticker remains on the top right corner, and there is light wear along the front cover hinge. There is a name written in the "this book belongs to" space on the inside. The inside pages are in excellent condition with no writing marks or creases. The spine and binding are also in very good condition. (see photos).
