Hard to find vintage 1960's young children's book, What Is It?, written by Wilma F. Klimke and illustrated by Eugenie.   Copyright 1969, published by Whitman (Western Publishing), Racine Wisconsin, and printed in the U.S.A..   Hardcover book, 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" (140mm x 108mm) , 21 printed pages.  The book is from the Whitman Tiny-Tot Tales  children's book series, no. 2960G.

Synopsis: The 1969 Whitman Tiny-Tot Tale What Is It? by Wilma F. Klimke, illustrated by Eugenie, is a simple, repetitive story designed for very young children. White Hen discovers a strange object and calls the other farm animals over to examine it. One by one, the animals try to figure out what the unfamiliar object could be, comparing it with things they already know. Their guesses are amusingly mistaken as they observe its appearance and movement.

Eventually, the animals discover that the mysterious object is actually a toy construction vehicle belonging to a young boy named Timothy. The story uses the animals' curiosity and their repeated question, "What is it?", to introduce young readers to the idea of identifying unfamiliar objects. With its short text, repetition, and colorful illustrations, the book is geared toward beginning listeners and readers.

Condition: The book is in overall very good condition.  The cover has some wear on the corner tips and spine cover with the heaviest wear on the spine cover (see photos).  The inside pages are in very good condition with no writing, tears, creases, or loose pages.
