Synopsis: Mother Goose Rhymes (Platt & Munk, 1939) is a nicely illustrated book that collects some of the most well-known English nursery rhymes. Its covers and pages are made of a cleanable linen cloth fabric that's good for little kids. The book gathers 10 well known verses traditionally attributed to Mother Goose, including timeless favorites like Baa Baa Black Sheep, Simple Simon, Pat-a-Cake, Mary Had A Little Lamb, Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe, Little Bo-Peep, Jack and Jill, Old Mother Hubbard, Ring-aRing-a-Roses, and Little Boy Blue.

The simple rhymes, rhythmic language, and repetitive patterns make the collection ideal for reading aloud while helping children develop listening skills, vocabulary, and an appreciation for rhyme and cadence.

Designed for preschool and early elementary readers, the book emphasizes imagination, humor, and gentle storytelling rather than a continuous narrative. Each rhyme is accompanied by colorful illustrations that bring the beloved verses to life and encourage children to engage with the characters and scenes. Like other 1930's era books from Platt & Munk, this edition is built to last and has lovely artwork, making it both a fun way to explore classic nursery rhymes and a keepsake volume that has remained popular with collectors of vintage children's books.
